California Proposition 65
It is important to note that until August 2018 our products pass 100% of the Cal Prop 65 requirement to be entirely lead and toxin free. It is also important to note that this is a requirement imposed by the state of California only for the state of California. No other state or country requires this notification.
Because Amazon.com fulfills many orders on our behalf nationwide within the US, all of our goods must have this label so that we can legally sell our headphones in California. In the meantime, we are looking into BPA-free materials to meet all requirements of Cal Prop 65 once again.
Nearly all non-food grade plastics do not currently meet the requirements of Cal Prop 65. To our knowledge, there is not a single headphone on the market (for children or adults) that can claim to be BPA-free. If you purchase a pair of headphones without a Cal Prop 65 compliance notification, it is likely that product is not sold in California.
The ONLY part of our headphones that is NOT BPA-free is the extender portion that is hidden inside the headphones when it's not extended. This part will only very rarely if ever, come into contact with your child's skin. However, if this part should come into contact with your child's skin, it would be no different than your child touching any non-food grade plastic such as a keyboard made out of polycarbonates.
We’ll get back to you as quickly as we can; our typical response time is 24 hours or less.
